The Uniclic® system allows you to install laminate floor coverings without the use of glue. The planks are linked through a tongue and groove. Follow the installation instructions closely and only use the Uniclic® accessories stated below to get the best results and to make sure that you can benefit from the Quick Step® guarantee.

Method A: The board is positioned at a 20 to 30° angle from the previously installed plank. While exerting pressure to push the plank forward move it up and down slightly until the panels click into place automatically. You can choose to insert the groove on to the tongue or choose the more common and easy way, inserting the tongue into the groove.

Method B: With the use of the Uniclic® you can also use a hammer to tap the panels into each other without lifting. This method requires the use of a special Uniclic® tapping block. Make sure to tap the planks together gradually.

Tools for installing the floor |
|
|
Follow the instructions exactly to get the best results. You will need to use the following tools and special accessories for the installing of the laminate flooring.
- hammer
- saw
- pencil
- measure
- installation kit (crowbar, spacers (1-8mm) and Uniclic® - adapted tapping block)
- underlayment system
- maintenance products

Caution: Using other accessories than those supplied by Quick Step® might cause damage to the Quick Step® floor. We advise that you only use prioducts and accessories which have been especially designed and tested to be used with Quick Step® laminate floors, otherwise the guarantee provided by Quick Step® will be void.

When cutting the planks to size be sure to place the pattern side facing the work surface when using a jig saw, sabre saw or circular handsaw and away from the surface when using a handsaw or a crosscut saw.
It is preferable that you leave the planks to acclimatize for 48 hours in the unopen packages at room temperature, placing them in the middle of the room where you will install the flooring.

Preparing the room |
|
|
- Check that doors can still open after you install the underlayment and the floor
- Check to see whether the molding can be removed. The floor can also be finished with Quick Step® profiles.
- The floor of the room should be flat. Please make sure you have smoothed out any unevenness. Underlayments are very important to smooth any irregularity in the floor surface but they also make the installation of laminate flooring planks easier.
- The subfloor must be clean and dry.
