| INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR VINYL FLOORING |
|
|
Preparation |
|
|
For satisfactory results, the subfloor must be free from dust and grit particles, smooth, leveled and dry.
In case the subfloor is unleveled, create an even surface:
Wooden flooring: using ring shank nails for fixing, cover the surface with pre-shrunk hardboard or plywood.
Concrete flooring: fill all cranks and holes with a leveling compound.
Tiled flooring: use a leveling compound to fill all joints in order to obtain a leveled surface
Soft flooring: remove old linoleum, cork or vinyl flooring. Also remove all traces of adhesive.

Acclimatisation |
|
|
Prior to installation, reverse roll the vinyl material and leave it in the designated room at a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius , for up to 24 hours.
Vinyl flooring should be cut in an open space, by adding up to 10 cm on all sides over the room's width and length. After making the cuts, roll it with the pattern on the inside.
Start laying the vinyl from the center of the room and, while unrolling it, gently sweep the flooring towards the walls to eliminate any air trapped underneath.
While trimming the flooring to size along doors and walls, try to keep the knife as straight as possible.
In case two different sheets of flooring must be installed in the same room, position the second layer on top of the first one so that it overlaps it by a few centimeters. Position the sheets to obtain a perfect alignment of the pattern, cut through both and remove the strips.
Vinyl floors can be fitted without the use of glue in smaller rooms. Double sided tape should be used alongside two adjacent walls, under seams and doors.
In rooms larger than 12 metres squares, full adhesion is strongly recommended.
Upon installation, clean the floor using warm water and mild detergent.
