The engineered flooring are a great choice for home-owners as it has several advantages over solid wood floors. The strips are made out of thin sheets of wood which have been glued together in a way similar to plywood. They come with several advantages as they come with factory applied finishes, they can be used anywhere in the house as they can be fixed with staples or glue and there is less shrinkage or warping.
Engineered floors are more durable and can be installed by anyone. The installation is quick, easy and less messy. There are several criteria for choosing high quality engineered flooring and they regard the thickness of the layer which can vary from 1/8 inch to 3/16 inch, the number of layers, the way in which the strips overlap as you shouldn't see a noticeable variation or the finish, because the number of coats will be very important.
