Acclimatization |
Store the unopened packs for up to 48 hours in the room where the floor will be installed under these conditions:
- sealed packs
- room temperature > + 18°C
- floor temperature > + 15°C
- Air humidity between 40% and 70%
Note! Do not open the packs until you are ready to install the flooring boards.
SUB-FLOORS: |
Damp sealed sub-floors, such as PVC, linoleum, rubber or wooden sub-floors are perfectly acceptable. Make sure you will need to remove all soft types of floor coverings, such as carpets.
Note! In case of electrical radiant sub floor heating systems make sure that the surface temperature never exceeds 28°C.
Basic rules for laying |
- place a 0.2 mm damp proof membrane over the full area of all screeded and stone floors. Overlap the strips by at least 20 cm directly under the joints.
- the use of a sound proofing underlay is highly recommended. Make sure not to overlap the strips.
- allow for expansion gaps of 8 – 10 mm between the floor and all walls, units etc.
- for doorways and rooms larger than 10 m (33 feet) in length and/or width you will need to allow for additional expansion gaps. Cover those with expansion profiles.

Installation of the laminate floors |
Step 1 – Check all flooring boards for possible damages or defects, such as scratches, discoloration and such. |
Ensure you understand the difference between the tongue and the groove on the flooring board (Fig. 1).
Start installing the first row from the left-hand corner of the room with both tongue sides of the board pointing towards the walls (Fig. 2).
