INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR BEAUFLOR VINYL FLOORS

arrow Method B: Full-Spread Installation
Follow all instructions provided for the Loose Lay Installation Method. After cutting the vinyl sheets to perfectly fit the area, lap or tube the material until one half of the subfloor is exposed.

Using a spatula, carefully apply an even uniform coat of adhesive and allow time for it to dry-to-touch. Place the material into the adhesive and fix it firmly to the subfloor to prevent air bubbles from forming. For best results, apply pressure on the vinyl sheet using a floor roller, not heavier than 100 pounds, or a rolling pin can.

Repeat the process with the other half of the vinyl roll.
Cover all transition areas with an edge protecting molding.

For prefect results, seams between different vinyl sheets should be placed:
  • parallel to high traffic areas, whenever possible
  • away from entrances and doorways
  • whenever possible, away from major pivot points
  • at a minimum of 6 inches from existing seams on the subfloor

After cutting the different sheets to fit the area, place the first piece into the adhesive and apply a 1/8 bead of seam bond adhesive to its edge. When placing the second piece into the adhesive, it is recommended to start in the center and work to the ends. To obtain a seamless surface, tuck the seam edge of piece two to the seam edge of piece one. Clean any excess adhesive of the surface using a putty knife and then wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
arrow Care Immediately after Setup
  • In case of Full-Spread Installations, avoid heavy traffic for at least 24 hours to allow to adhesive to dry.
  • In case of Loose Lay Installations, protect all seams from traffic for at least 12 hours after setup.
  • Protect the vinyl floor from scratches and tears by using professional furniture movers or plywood panels.
  • After installation, keep room temperature at 65°F (18.3°C) for 24 hours and at a minimum of 55°F (13°C) thereafter.
